Disney’s Finding Nemo Junior

Dive into the big blue with Victoria School of the Arts’ Junior Years students as they bring Disney and Pixar’s Finding Nemo JR. to life on the Evo O. Howard stage! Bursting with unforgettable characters, heartwarming music, and dazzling underwater adventures, this musical is a joyful celebration of friendship, courage, and finding your way home. When young clownfish Nemo is captured on his first day of school, his nervous but determined father, Marlin, sets out across the ocean to rescue him. Along the way, he meets Dory, a forgetful but fearless blue tang, and together they face jellyfish, sharks, sea turtles—and their own fears. Don’t miss this splashy adventure under the sea!
A Merry Widow

The Merry Widow is a stylish romantic comedy that proves opera can be as dazzling and entertaining as any night on the town. Whether you’re an opera devotee or attending for the first time, prepare to be thoroughly enchanted! Franz Lehár’s The Merry Widow is witty, romantic, and irresistibly glamorous. Set in the glittering embassies and grand ballrooms of 1900s Pontevedro, the story follows Hanna Glawari—a fabulously wealthy, newly widowed heiress whose love life has unexpectedly become a matter of national interest. What follows is a whirl of mistaken identities, romantic misfires, and champagne-fueled waltzes—set to one of operetta’s most delightful scores, featuring classics like “The Vilja Song,” “Women, Women, Women,” and the iconic “Merry Widow Waltz.”
Leaps and Bounds
March 3-5
Leaps and Bounds is Victoria School of the Arts’ annual celebration of student choreography, showcasing the creative visions of our Dance 35 IB students. Over the course of their two-year program, these emerging choreographers delve into the art of composition, crafting solos, duets, and group pieces that reflect their unique artistic voices. Collaborating closely with peers across grades 8 to 12, they bring to life performances that are both innovative and deeply personal.
Groove & Grit: A Night of Jazz

Get ready to unwind and immerse yourself in an unforgettable evening of jazz at our second annual A Night of Jazz: Groove & Grit. Held in the cozy and inviting Canvas Cafe, this event promises a soulful blend of smooth grooves, gritty rhythms, and incredible live performances from our talented high school jazz musicians. Enjoy a delicious dinner menu featuring a variety of tasty options, paired perfectly with refreshing non-alcoholic cocktails crafted to complement the evening’s vibe. Puffs (Two Act for Young Wizards)
April 21-25
This spring, Victoria School of the Arts presents Puffs—the hit off-Broadway comedy that flips the script on a certain famous wizarding world. Fast-paced, irreverent, and packed with heart, Puffs follows three underdog students who just happened to be sorted into the most overlooked house at a certain school of magic and magic. Over seven increasingly dangerous years, the Puffs do their best to stay out of trouble, stay alive, and maybe, just maybe…make their mark. With lightning-fast dialogue, absurd humour, and a visually striking set that brings magical mayhem to life, this unforgettable play offers a fresh, and unexpectedly moving journey through a hilarious version of the wizarding world.
Triple Threat presents: (TBA)

Victoria School of the Arts, in collaboration with Campus EPSB, proudly presents our new Triple Threat program offering a fully staged musical production featuring students from across the division. This unique, non-audition opportunity brings together young artists from Victoria and the broader EPSB community who have spent the semester immersed in intensive, multi-disciplinary training in singing, acting, and dance. After months of hard work and artistic growth, these emerging performers take to the stage to share their talents in a dynamic production that celebrates collaboration, creativity, and the joy of live performance.
PlayWorks 2026

Join us for PlayWorks, Victoria School of the Arts’ annual festival of student-directed one-act plays. This celebrated event showcases the creative vision and leadership of our Directing 35 students, who take the helm from script selection through casting, rehearsals, and final performance. Over four evenings, audiences will experience a dynamic lineup of short plays—ranging from poignant dramas to sharp comedies—each directed by emerging student artists and brought to life by a talented ensemble of actors and crew. With brief intermissions between performances, each night offers a fresh and engaging theatrical experience. Whether you're a seasoned theatre enthusiast or new to the stage, PlayWorks 2026 promises an inspiring glimpse into the next generation of theatrical talent.

Envision is Victoria School of the Arts’ annual dance showcase, presenting works by professional choreographers from across Western Canada. This event offers a platform for students to explore diverse movement styles and artistic expressions under the guidance of experienced artists. Through collaborations with guest choreographers, students engage in the creative process, learning new techniques and perspectives. The showcase features a variety of dance genres, reflecting the rich tapestry of dance in the region.
Chaos in Chorus: Spring Choral Concert

This heartwarming event brings Kindergarten to Grade 6 students to the stage to share what they've been exploring in their music (K-5) and dance (K-6) and drama classes (6) throughout the year. Join us for an afternoon of smiles, celebration, and community as we applaud the talents of Victoria’s next generation.
Film Studios World Premiere

Roll out the red carpet! Join us for the highly anticipated annual Film Studios World Premiere, where Victoria School of the Arts proudly showcases its newest original film. Created, written, filmed, and performed entirely by student artists, this premiere celebrates months of collaboration, creativity, and cinematic storytelling. Each year, the Film Studios program pushes boundaries with bold narratives, genre experimentation, and technical innovation. From powerful documentaries to surreal fantasies and sharp comedies, these student-driven films offer a fresh perspective on the world—and a glimpse into the future of Canadian cinema.
The Black Tile Gallery presents
September 3- October 10
The Black Tile Gallery opens the season with âniskômohcikan, an exhibition of photography led through a lens of Indigenous Ways of Knowing. This exhibit showcases photographs students have taken that uses the world around them to emphasize various Indigenous teachings and concepts. Each photograph utilizes various understandings of visuals and language to create a cohesive piece. This is a celebration and collaboration of nehiyawewin (Cree language) 20/30s, Photography 10/20/30, and Applied Graphic Arts 15 students work. Join us in celebrating this collaborative journey these students took together to create these wonderful visual pieces.

Vintage Travel: A Mixed Media Journey: Step back in time and embark on a creative voyage with Vintage Travel, a vibrant mixed media exhibition showcasing the imaginative works of students from various grades. Inspired by the elegance and adventure of early 20th-century travel, this collection invites you to explore a world of steamships, hot air balloons, vintage postcards, and imagined destinations. From colorful paintings and collages to sculptural interpretations and interactive maps, students have brought to life the excitement of journeys both real and fantastical. Through varied materials and media, they capture moments of departure, discovery, and the memories we carry with us along the way.

Juxapop! A Celebration of Bright and Bold Elementary Art Celebration: Join us for a joyful celebration of creativity as our youngest artists showcase their vibrant and imaginative artworks. This lively exhibition highlights the talent and enthusiasm of students from Kindergarten through Grade 6, offering a wonderful glimpse into their artistic journeys so far this year. Come see the bright colors, playful shapes, and fresh ideas that bring the season to life through the eyes of our elementary artists.
January 12 - February 20
No Grey Areas: A Black & White Media Showcase: No Grey Areas is a striking black-and-white media showcase that celebrates contrast, clarity, and creative expression. Featuring powerful works in photography and applied graphic arts by students across higher grade levels, the show explores the tension between light and dark, structure and spontaneity. Timed to coincide with our biggest spring events—Open House, Junior Mainstage, Pop Goes the Opera, and Jazz Night—No Grey Areas invites audiences to experience how visual media connects with the wider creative energy of our school.
February: Black History Month
Mosaic: A Celebration of BIPOC Creators:
In honor of Black History Month, we are proud to present Mosaic: A Celebration of BIPOC Creators, a vibrant and thought-provoking art exhibition created entirely by BIPOC students from kindergarten to grade 12. This show is a celebration of identity, heritage, resilience, and joy as seen through the eyes of young artists whose voices are too often underrepresented in traditional art spaces. Younger students explore storytelling and self-portraiture through color and texture, while older students delve into complex histories and contemporary brushstroke, print, and pixel speaks to legacy and possibility.

Home and Harmony: Home and Harmony invites you to explore the heart of the household—the kitchen—through the creative collaboration of ceramics and music. This unique exhibition brings together students’ handcrafted ceramic works with original musical compositions, reflecting kitchens across different times and cultures. From timeless pottery forms to the rhythms and melodies inspired by the sounds of cooking and gathering, Home and Harmony celebrates how kitchens shape our daily lives and connect us through shared traditions. Whether it’s the crackle of a hearth, the clinking of utensils, or the warmth of family meals, these artworks and sounds create a harmonious experience of home’s enduring spirit.

IB Art 30: Exploration and Expression: The IB Art 30 exhibition presents a compelling collection of works by senior students engaged in the International Baccalaureate Visual Arts program. This show highlights their deep research, conceptual inquiry, and technical skill developed over the course of the year. Students explore personal, cultural, and global themes through diverse media and approaches, challenging conventions and expressing complex ideas. Their works reflect critical thinking, experimentation, and a mature artistic voice—inviting viewers to engage with questions about identity, society, and the role of art in the world. This exhibition marks an important milestone for these emerging artists as they share their unique perspectives and creative journeys.

Craft: Craft explores the rich and complex dialogue between fine art and traditional craft, delving into the intersection where aesthetic intention meets function, and where cultural memory intertwines with material form. This exhibition challenges the long-standing dichotomy between "art" and "craft" by highlighting works rooted in traditional practices that embody both utility and profound expression. Through a range of media and techniques, Craft draws connections between makers and the earth, examining how natural materials and ancestral knowledge continue to shape contemporary narratives. Each piece reflects the enduring relevance of folklore, heritage, and purposeful creation, inviting viewers to reconsider the value of function, process, and meaning in both craft and fine art.
