Catalyst Theatre presents The Invisible

September 23 to October 7
 A musical set during World War II that tells the tale of the Special Operations Executive; a group of women deployed as spies to carry out espionage and sabotage. 

Frankenstein

October 24-October 30
Frankenstein by Jonathan Christenson is a visually stunning and haunting musical adaptation of Mary Shelley's timeless story is both ghoulishly funny and devastatingly tragic as it focuses on the fallibility of all the characters - even those deemed as monstrous. 

The Secret in the Wings

November 26-30
The Secret in the Wings, by Mary Zimmerman’s play adapts a group of lesser-known fairy tales to create a theatrical work that sets their dark mystery against her signature wit and humor. The framing story concerns a child and the frightening babysitter with whom her parents leave her. As the babysitter reads from a book, the characters in each of the tales materialize, with each tale breaking off just at its bleakest moment before giving way to the next one.

December 9-12

Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Junior

January 22-25
Fall down the rabbit hole with Alice as she navigates the curious world of Wonderland on a journey of self-discovery. When young Alice finds herself in a strange world where everything seems upside down, she must find her way home…and find herself along the way, encountering a White Rabbit, the grinning Cheshire Cat, a cool Caterpillar, the wacky Mad Hatter, and the hot-tempered Queen of Hearts.

Leaps and Bounds

February 12-13
Leaps and Bounds is a celebration of student choreographed works! Throughout the two year programme, Dance IB students explore the art of composition through the creation of a solo, a duet and a group piece. Students have been engaged in the creative process alongside one another and student dancers. We are so excited to be sharing the work of our student choreographers and the incredible ensemble cast of dancers!

The Lighting Thief

March 11-15
The Lighting Thief is the story of the half-blood son of a Greek god, Percy Jackson! He has newly-discovered powers he can't control, a destiny he doesn't want, and a mythology textbook's worth of monsters on his trail. When Zeus's master lightning bolt is stolen and Percy becomes the prime suspect, he has to find and return the bolt to prove his innocence and prevent a war between the gods.

The PlayWorks Short Play Festival is the annual celebration of the work of the Directing 35 students at Victoria School of the Arts.

A dance showcase featuring the works of professional choreographers from across Western Canada. Come and enjoy performances where the lines between dance genres blur and appreciation of dance as a mode of artistic expression is explored.
