As Indigenous Peoples, we have unique ways in which we see the world. At the core, Indigenous Ways of Knowing honour identity, culture, spirituality, language and the land. Some of these teachings and initiatives can be seen throughout Victoria School of the Arts. Our goal is to ensure all students and staff are supported with the tools and resources for cultural awareness and knowledge gain. We foster reconciliation by weaving Indigenous ways of knowing throughout the school community. These initiatives include opportunities to learn Indigenous perspectives through ceremonies, Elder support, and teachings from Indigenous staff and community members. High school students have the opportunity to enroll in Nêhiyawêwin (Cree) Language and Culture 10/20/30 and Indigenous Studies 10/20/30.
